Product Management - Done!

Doing this course has been a very interesting experience.

Initially, I was a little skeptical, not sure how relevant a Silicon Valley-focused course in a skill area that's relatively unknown or loosely defined in Mumbai would be - but it's been a pleasant surprise.

First off, the course is a lot longer than 13 hours - add in the resources and informational links, we're looking at a good 2 hours of self-research for every hour of video lectures. In the real world, that would be a full semester at a B-school with equivalent credits.

Second, it's an amazing realization that there's so much we are already doing here - some we learned on the job, some we brought in along with outside hires, and a surprising amount developed from first principles by trial and error, but now we have proper names for it, and we see where it fits into the overall scope.

And third - having that perspective of where your daily job and role fits in the overall PM structure really brings in a lot of clarity and spotlights those parts that you were ignoring or missing - and also those parts you may be obsessively delivering, that aren't really that important.

So, for anyone who's in the product / digital product marketing space, who's building his own stuff, or is in any way involved in making or making better any website, app, section, or feature, this is a pretty useful course to do.
